What is SaaS Content Management?
A content management system (CMS) can also know as web content management system (WCMS). It is a system implemented for creating and managing all web content including text, documents, audio files, video files, images and much more. The content will often be in HTML format which can either be created or managed by using the application.
SaaS offers the CMS as a hosted application which is accessed by a web browser to create, control, and edit web content. This is ideal for SMB’s that may not have the resource to have a comprehensive IT department with the ability to handle large quantities of content. SaaS CMS customers tend to see a SaaS vendor as a kind of outsourced consultancy with not only infrastructure but web design and development support as well.
A SaaS CMS system, unlike web-site builders such as Microsoft FrontPage or Adobe Dreamweaver, will allow a non-technical user to make changes to the content of a website without the need of technical expertise in coding. It also has the benefit of being able to make these changes from anywhere in the world, as long as the user has an internet connection and a web browser.
